Our Story
The Story of Coffee, Chat & Support CIC

Founded by Claire Naylor — A Mum Who Knew Things Had to Change

Coffee, Chat & Support began not as a grand plan or a business idea — but as a mum’s determination to make sure no parent ever felt as alone as I once did.
I’m Claire Naylor, a mum to neurodivergent children, and I’ve walked the often overwhelming, confusing, and lonely road of parenting children with additional needs. When my family started our SEND journey, I was hit with walls of paperwork, inaccessible services, endless waiting lists, and — most of all — isolation. I didn’t know who to turn to, what help was available, or even what questions I should be asking.
One thing became clear: parents and carers like me needed a place to belong, to feel heard, and to get practical, no-nonsense support.
So I started small — coffee mornings, just informal meet-ups where parents could share experiences, swap advice, and vent without judgement. A simple brew, a listening ear, and the magic that happens when people realise: “I’m not the only one.” Those coffee mornings quickly became lifelines, and the demand kept growing.
From there, Coffee, Chat & Support CIC was born. We’re now a Community Interest Company rooted in Somerset, offering a safe space, practical advice, and tailored help for families navigating SEND systems. We offer:
-
Weekly coffee mornings
-
SEND Clinics for one-to-one support
-
Legal Surgeries with education law solicitors
-
SEN Den stay & play sessions
-
Home visits
-
Parent training and workshops
-
Signposting to services and professionals
-
Resources, guides, and form-filling help
But more than that — we’re a community. A place where your battles are understood, your child is celebrated, and you can breathe a little easier knowing someone’s got your back.
I built Coffee, Chat & Support not just as a founder — but as a mum who knew we all needed more than the system was giving us. And we’re still growing, driven by the voices and needs of the families we serve.
If you’re walking this journey, you don’t have to walk it alone anymore.
