Private Options

The NHS in the UK generally accepts private autism assessments; however, it's important to note that not all private assessments may be accepted. Please check before paying for the assessment to ensure it will be accepted.

If you are a registered NHS patient in England and your GP refers you for specialist treatment, such as an ADHD or autism assessment, you have the legal right to choose an appropriate healthcare provider. This can be a private provider. Many people choose this option for reduced waiting times. These options will cost money so ensure you are comfortable and able before going ahead.

Through talking to other parents going through the EHCP process I have learnt that private Educational Psychologists are able to give a more detailed, thorough report. Increasing the chances of that child being placed in the correct setting and thriving.
